PLATO'S MIND

The concept of this collection is based on Plato’s theory of two colliding worlds: a perfect utopia and the imperfect reality. According to the ancient greek philosopher, humans can only have an idea of what perfection is, but will never achieve it. This holds true for the fashion industry as well, where the ideal conception of style and glamour collides with the harsh reality: The exploitation of people and nature for the price of fashion.

The contrast of these opposites resulted in garments designed of bold colors versus natural colors and stiff versus organic shapes. Our designer Laura Meijering intends this collection to be a direct solution for customers by raising awareness for this issue and at the same time  encouraging change. For this reason, all clothes from this collection are made out of carefully sourced natural fabrics and created with zero-waste patterns to prevent fabric waste.
